As usual a very late favourites post.
First in the list has to be the Eye of Horus cosmetics eyeliner, it is brilliant!! I am pretty much haven’t a clue when it comes to putting makeup and eyeliner has always been the worst thing for me. The nib on the eye liner pen is brilliant, it isn’t as soft as some other ones so it is easier to apply. I even managed to do a bit of a flick at the end. It lasts all day and comes off pretty easy with most makeup removers. It is a really dark black and noticeable on the eye. Eye of Horus cosmetics is an Australian brand is available to purchase on Cloud 10 Beauty and retails at €22.
Next up is the Moogoo conditioner, I got samples of this at the Into the West blogger network and my hair felt really soft after use. This is another Australian brand that has a huge range of skincare, a baby range, hair care, and a few other products, check Moogoo out here. Their products are all natural which is a huge plus and their hair care products are silicone free for people with sensitive scalps. I think I will have to try out more of their range and do a proper review on all the products. I have dry skin and it can sensitive so I will try out their skincare range soon and do a full review.
I decided to just pick two favorites this month instead of my usual three products, I don’t want to be picking products just to have something to blog about. Hope everybody enjoyed all my Australian products this month 🙂
Apologies for the very late post! It is practically time for my October favourites post! Anyway sorry I will get back to the point 🙂
So first up is this Hask shampoo and conditioner. You can buy this in Penneys and it is great, it contains argan oil and coconut oil. My hair smelt like coconut after and was for the first time in a while was smooth and not frizzy!! Also the shine off my hair is brilliant, definitely worth a purchase and won’t break the bank. I got gifted this at the Cocoa Brown event.
I got a sample of this Ren moisturiser from Cloud 10 Beauty with a purchase and I love it! The sample lasted me about a week and by the end of the week I could already notice a difference in the lines on my forehead! Ren do a variety of different creams for different skin types. They also do sample sets, so you can buy a set for about €18 and it has 3 different products. The full size is definitely my next purchase.
I got the Ciate eyebrow gel in Brown Thomas and love how natural my eyebrows look using it. I normally use the collection eyebrow set and love it but wanted to try something new. Or even use the collection powder for a bit of a fill in and the Ciate gel over it. The Ciate gel comes in three different colours and it is €16.
Has anybody tried any new products they want to share?
I have been using Barry M nail varnish for the past few years and love the colours. It is my go to brand when I want a new colour, they have so many colours!! They also do have a lot of different types of nail varnish, if any guy actually reads this they will be like “different types of nail varnish, seriously???” But it is true, they have their basic normal nail varnish, silk, gelly (which I love), matte, a new range of sunset gel which you don’t need a UV lamp to use it, and many more varieties. They are all at a great price, ranging from about €4 to €6 depending on the type.
In the past few months I have bought some of their makeup. I bought this eyeshadow and blusher palette and I love it, I use it on a daily basis for going to work to going out at night and love the colours. It was a limited edition palette and I am actually devastated because I don’t think you can get it anymore!! They have four other palettes (click here) and they are about €10 each.
Another recent purchase from Barry M includes this Contour Kit, I am new to the world of contouring and a majority of the time I try and then end up wiping it off. Over the past couple of weeks I feel like I am finally starting to get better at it. I love this palette as it has three different colours, I use the brightest as a powder to dust over my foundation and the middle colour for contouring. I haven’t use the darkest colour as it doesn’t use my skin tone. (Ignore the state of the pallet is well used!!)

I am going to try and stick to doing my monthly favourites, these posts may not be just based around beauty.
I started using the Isadora mascara, Flashing Volume. I really like the brush as it is easy to apply mascara to all of your lashes. It is a good mascara and comes off easy enough with makeup remover. I really hate mascaras that refuse to come off and then clump all your eyelashes together!!
I have talked before about Blank Canvas Cosmetics brushes and I still love them!I bought the F21 for contouring and it is brilliant! I tried to contour before with other brushes and just looked like I had a dirty blotch on both sides of my face!! The F21 I just have apply the powder to the area and use it to blend it and I have to say, not that I know much about makeup but I think it looks right. I use the Barry M contouring palette and I will have a seperate blog post up on that soon.
My third and final August favourite is the Sleek eyeshadow palette, I got i-Divine I love the colours in this one and will be buying more as they have loads of them and in a variety of colours. The pigmentation in the eye shadows is pretty good, the container is quite small and slim and could easily fit into your handbag or going out clutch.
Hi everybody 🙂
Today I am going to do a run through of my favorite makeup brushes, I use Blank Canvas cosmetics and LOVE their brushes. I never really knew what makeup brushes to use and also didn’t want to spend crazy money on brushes either! When I went to Pippas Fashion Factory in January in the Powerscourt Hotel, she talked about different brushes and about how good the blank canvas brushes are. I received one in the goodie bag and also another one in the goodie bag at the Into the West Blogger Network Event in the G hotel in May.
My favorite brush by far is the F20 flat buffer brush, this is part of the HD collection and I use it put on my foundation. I am seriously in love with this brush, it feels amazing at putting foundation on and gives really good coverage. If you even only buy one brush from this collection, you have to get this one! This brush is currently €14.99.
The E35 flat shader is great for applying eye shadow, I use it for the base colour and also for adding a bit of glitter at the end. The hairs are short enough so that the eye shadow doesn’t go everywhere. This brush is currently €6.99.
I also use the E37 pencil brush for applying darker eye shadows for a smokey eye. I like the size of the brush and it is easy to use. I am no beauty expert and have finally managed to do a smokey eye that I like and I have to say it is all down to these brushes. This brush is also only €6.99.
I use the E26 to blend my eyeshadow. It is great, half the time I think I have done a disaster job with my eye shadow and then I just grab this brush to blend the colours and it fixes everything and looks good. I have two of these brushes, I got my second in the ITWBN goodie bag and love having two of them for darker and brighter eye shadow colours.
I bought the F15 for contouring and highlighting. I am still new to the contouring world and find this brush great, the brush is quite soft so the contouring powder is easier to apply. This brush is €14.99.
I got the G25 is a large powder brush, it is great for throwing on a bit of powder over my foundation. I got this brush in the goodie bag at Pippa’s fashion factory. The brush is €13.99.
These are my favorite makeup brushes, they are great prices and brilliant quality. I wash my brushes every week and they are all still in perfect condition. I did a blog post a while back on washing your brushes, and I have not had one problem with my brushes.
*I purchased all of these makeup brushes and received two as gifts in goodie bags as stated. These are my views on the brushes and blank canvas have in no way encouraged me to write this post. The blog is only for guidance on my personal views.
Wednesday night Mac launched their new range Mac is Beauty in their Brown Thomas store and is available to buy in store from yesterday the 28th of May. The new range has some lovely colours with a mix of pinks, peaches and even some green 🙂
The lipstick colours were amazing and I couldn’t help my self and got ‘Catty’. I really wanted a nice pink lipstick that I could wear everyday.
It was a great event and we even got a makeup demonstration of some of the new products. I need everything, especially the new prolongwear foundation, it is full coverage and waterproof. It also has no spf in it so perfect for night time to stop that horrible white face look appearing in photos. I only found out recently that it is the flashback of the spf in your foundation! I will still wear an spf in my foundation during the day or a good spf moisturiser under my foundation.
So last night I went to the Benefit Beauty Bash in Zaragoza in Dublin. The event was sponsored by U magazine and it was a brilliant night! It started at 6.30pm and got there way too early, we weren’t the only ones though there was plenty of glamorous women waiting outside.
When we entered the restaurant, our coats were taken, given a glass of cava and shown to our tables. All the tables had loads of bits and pieces on them:
The night also included a four course tapas meal and the food was amazing, apologies I don’t have more pictures of the food as I couldn’t wait to taste everything!! Here is a picture of the first course, the cheese in breadcrumbs with orange and cranberry which was amazing, check out their website on http://www.zaragozadublin.com
The cocktails looked amazing and the staff were kept pretty busy with the drink orders!!
Benefit had also set up a pop shop in a section of the restaurant where you could buy their products at 10per cent off. We all also got a voucher for €10 off products on the night so serious bargains to be had. We went up to the shop after the starter and I got a lovely set that had a few products in it that I wanted to try:
I can’t wait to try these out and I am really excited about the eyeshadow primer 😆
Benefit also had a makeup and hair demonstration, their store is next doors to the restaurant on South William Street, they provide a range of beauty and hair services, check out their page on facebook, Benefit Cosmetics Ireland.
The lovely Jennifer Stevens from U Magazine and Mark Rogers from Benefit held a competition for the best dressed of the night. Five lovely girls were picked and the winner won a Benefit hamper.
The night finished off with a cocktail masterclass. The cocktails all looked amazing and will definitely be back to try them 🙂
I will definitely be keeping an eye out for the next event!

Hey, hope everyone had a great weekend!! I went out for an early birthday dinner because next week is a busy weekend and I have my first race in over 2 months. Back to doing a bit of training this week so hope my shin splints are better!!
So this is what I wore out last night for my birthday dinner:
I love FX Buckley, it is my favourite steakhouse in Dublin!!
After dinner we went to Xico on Baggott street, for anybody who doesn’t know, this is the new name for the Baggott Inn. I was very surprised when I heard that the Baggott Inn closed down. Xico appears to be a Mexican themed pub, with worn wood and steel bars like a prison cell underground theme. I got a cocktail and they have a pretty good menu.
I got the Jalapeno Business, I should have known by the name that it was going to be spicy!! But the ingredients looked so good, Absolut Vanilla, Elderflower, Pineapple, Passionfruit and Lemon. Still can’t figure out how it was spicy, but it plumped up my lips a bit 😛
After Xico, we went to Balfes in the Westbury Hotel. Had a really nice time here, it is relaxing and the staff are brilliant. It was very easy to get served and it also very easy to get their attention. The food looked amazing as well, I had prosecco and then was bold a bit later and got a portion of chips 🙂 Being classy like always 😀
Having a very relaxing today and watching loads of comedy movies on Netflix 🙂
