So, we decided we deserved a little break away for the August bank holiday weekend, well I decided 😛 I just really wanted to get away and relax for a night and just do something different really!
We decided on Belfast, as neither of us have been there in a good while. We booked the Radisson Blu in Belfast, location wasn’t too bad about a 5 minute walk into the city and it also had plenty of parking. It was a nice hotel, our room was really nice, not overly big but sure we were only there for one night. We had booked room only, so on check in they gave us the option of breakfast for £12 each, we went for it as breakfast in any other Radisson hotel I have been in has always been amazing!! I am not going to lie and don’t want to be a blogger who makes everything out to be perfect and keeps quiet about the bad. Breakfast was a disaster, we went down 30 minutes before breakfast finished and they only had black pudding and scrambled eggs left. We would understand if we arrived down at the time they were closing but no, and there was plenty of people waiting around to see if more food came out. When we were checking out we informed reception when they asked how our stay was, and the girl behind reception couldn’t have been nicer. She genuinely came across that she cared, she immediately refunded us for our breakfast and kept apologising and asking for more details.
Anyway, so I asked a lovely blogger friend Rebecca (click here for her blog) for advice on what to do in Belfast and where to go. She gave me so many amazing suggestions!! So, when we arrived on Sunday we went for a look around the shops and went to St.Georges market. This is a great indoor market, there was so many stalls selling everything!! You could buy jewellery, candles, food, home decor, handbags, and so much more, oh and cupcakes!! Oh my god the cupcakes looked amazing, I really should have taken some pictures! We got some food here, they had loads of food stalls and we tried some patatas bravas and meatballs.
After we went to The Perch, it is a really cute rooftop bar. Half of the bar has no roof, so if it rains you might need an umbrella 🙂 We were there during the day and it was quite relaxing, we had a glass of wine and will definitely go back for a visit.
That night we went to The Ten Square Hotel for dinner, the food here was really good! I got the ribs, and seriously the portion was huge!!
After dinner we went to the Filthy Quarter, this is a really cool bar. I am not really sure how to describe it, it is like 4 different bars in one. There is Filthy McNastys, The Secret Garden, FilthyChic and The Gypsy Lounge. We sat in FilthyChic and I had a Bramble cocktail. The cocktail menu was huge and I couldn’t decide what I wanted!!
We went to the Titanic Museum on Monday, it is pretty big and there is so much to see and do in it. I was at a titanic museum before a few years ago in Kildare, this was before the titanic museum in Belfast opened. A lot of the objects were the same but there was so much detail in the museum in Belfast and it was probably more based around the building of the titanic.
Belfast is definitely a city worth visiting, there is so much to do and I wish we had gone for two nights so we would of had enough time to see more!
